Michael's '68 Pontiac firebird PRO TOURING special
Micheal bought this 68 Pontiac firebird some years ago with the plan of restoring it.
Years passed by and he just didn't come around to starting the project as it so often happens with these cars, as work and business go before pleasure. Micheal turned up in our showroom someday with the question if we could build the car of his dreams for him. Well we sat down around the table and PTTM came up with some special designs and ideas about Michael's wishes and how we felt the car should be built, and after some talks about money and a time frame for the build, Michael shook our hands as he liked what we told him and we made a deal. He then brought the car and some parts he already acquired through the Years.
The general plan is to build a Full Pro-Touring style 68 Firebird, (see concept picture ) but with some special stylish body, design-features to make the car stand out and will be more to Michael's personal taste. The wheel wells will be opened up more, the rear end will receive some custom touches and an integrated rear spoiler and flushed bumper and taillights and more. The rear wheel well's will also get a mini tub to make room for the planned 12J 20 inch wheels and 345 wide rear tires!
The car will also receive a PTTM custom build, 4 links rear suspension system with coil overs and the front end will receive tubular A-arms and coil overs, and subframe connectors will be added as well. Furthermore, the car will get special 4 wheel disc brakes with large rotors. A set of 12J rear and 9J front 20/19 inch custom made wheels will finish the stance of the Custom PTTM lowered body and Chassis. The hood of the car is a very special and rare T/A hood with hood scoops and pins. The engine and driveline will consist of a PTTM pro build Pontiac performance V8 engine with some special details and a PTTM builds performance transmission with overdrive. All wiring will also be renewed and the engine bay will be cleaned up and all unnecessary holes removed.
