FOR SALE AS IS OR TURN KEY WITH PTTM RESTORATION :
This true and real 1967 Shelby GT500 with Toploader 4 speed manual transmission. The car is an original Nightmist blue car with white Shelby side stripes and black deluxe interior. The car is also a correct inboard light car with functional side scoops that's typically only found on the Early production cars.
With only around 9-10% of the GT500's produced in this color combination, and of them only around 6% were 4 speeds this is considered a rare car. Especially because its an actual Early Shelby, completely correct and all the body and engine and trans-Vin numbers in place. The car is in the Shelby registry and comes with a Marti report to prove its original pedigree. Very rare indeed.
The car is currently in its unrestored original, low miles survivor condition but we have plans to upgrade the car with a complete restoration. The car carries all of its original parts and the interior is also in very nice and all original condition and that in itself makes it a rare find indeed. The car also carries all its original Shelby numbers and stamps.
The car was produced on January 27 in 1967 ( Early production ) and shipped in April '67 to a North Dakota dealer called Wallwork Fargo inc, who sold the car new in late August of the same year to the First Owner, Kenn Collings in Indiana and later on it was sold to the second owner who lived in Palmetto Florida. It appears this car was sold one more time ( so a 3 owner car ) as the last owner also lived in Palmetto Florida. The car, therefore, spent its entire! life in the so-called dry and sunny states and that might declare why the car is still in very original and good overall condition today.
With the 428 FE police interceptor engine that was tuned by Carroll Shelby and upgraded, amongst other details, with a dual quad intake with 2 Holley carb's these cars were unique. Especially when they were hooked up to the famous top loader 4 speed manual trans, as performance to the rear axle was then almost 95% instead of only around 60-65 % with an automatic transmission. And seeing ford didn't sell any 428 big block engines in there Mustangs until later in 1968, the 67 Shelby GT500 were one of a kind cars.
The cars are all produced in the Shelby production plant and not as the later 68-1970 models with Ford. This all combined makes the 1967, besides being a fantastic model in itself, true Shelby's that still carried the Shelby race and performance pedigree. Something later models lost somewhat as production of Carroll's cars was re-located to Ford factory's.
We won't start telling you who Carroll Shelby was and what made him famous and unique in car and race history, as this man might well be one of the greatest and well-known car icons the world has ever seen. This next to Enzo Ferrari, a name he also knew very well and who's car's he had beaten on the race tracks more than once. So he doesn' t need any further introduction we assume.

The car is a true collector's item and an investment grade car. Its history in brand name and status is legendary and its one of the last true Shelby car's. With prices for restored 67' Shelby's gt500's going up and up, this car will be for sale for a very attractive price. We have seen correctly restored original cars getting sold for well over 350k on auctions last year, and those weren't even Early production cars that are even more desirable. Prices will also keep rising for future years to come, just as they have done so in the past 50 years.... However, that's far away of the price we ask for this rare early 4 speed, not even in full Concours restored condition.
We might start up the restoration process soon.
But besides that, these big block fastbacks Shelby's are fantastic cars to drive, especially the 4 speeds. So don't wait to long, if you ever wanted a true 67 GT500, then this might be your chance to won one or ad it to your current collection.
